Now is the time for ACTION!!!!

Phone Script:
"I am calling to ask your support for SB 264: The Illinois Safe Childbirth Act.  It amends the Alternative Health Care Delivery Act to establish freestanding birth centers in Illinois.

I am a midwife/mother/father/pregnant woman/interested constituent (whaterver applies here) and I would like you to co-sponsor or vote for it.

What is your position on establishing birth centers for safe childbirth options for the women in Illinois?"

Birth Centers are an important option for women, and available to women across the world, in 35 U.S. States, and in all states surrounding Illinois including Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

The Health Professional Shortage areas in Illinois are increasing in number, hospital obstetrcial departments are closing, and women are being deprived of a safe option for birthing.

FBCs are less expensive than hospitals (assisting women without health insurance to get safe childbirth care), and the studies prove their safety. We need this in Illinois now.
