Remembering Marca Bristo, Inspiring Leader in the Disability Rights Movement
Health & Medicine grieves with fellow social justice advocates on the loss of our dear friend Marca Bristo.
Marca was a fierce leader in the disability rights movement, always insisting that addressing the interests and needs of the disability community would benefit us all. This is a true public health view—what is right for the least advantaged among us, is right for everyone!
We will miss Marca’s voice—always clear, brilliant and focused. We will miss her commitment to the collective good and that working together is ALWAYS what we should do.
Marca was always clear that health care for all was fundamental to human dignity and a basic human right. We were proud to stand side by side with Marca on this and so many other issues.
It is incumbent on all of us to continue the battles Marca fought—every day with grace and power.
