Speakers Bureau
Our Speakers Bureau links professionals representing diverse health professions to career seekers in order to inform, motivate, and empower students to pursue attainable health career goals. We have an ongoing partnership with the Chicago Public Schools and the Michael Reese Health Trust to connect speakers to students to learn more about health careers.

We need volunteers from all health professions including Physicians, Dentists, Mental Health, Public Health, and Health Law. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, complete the form here: https://tinyurl.com/5adeckum.

Chicago AHEC Health Careers Promotion & Preparation sites include:
  • Gage Park High School
  • Thornton High School
  • Instituto Health Sciences Career Academy
  • Hales Franciscan
  • Computer Systems Institute
Community-Based Student Education
JOB SHADOWING
Chicago AHEC provides job shadowing opportunities in community based settings to high school sophomores and juniors.  We are looking for individuals and organizations who are willing to participate in our job shadowing program. Chicago AHEC strives to provide individuals interested in the health profession with a comprehensive understanding of the health care workplace.
SERVICE LEARNING
Service Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.
Chicago AHEC supports service learning activities related to community health issues.  If you have any service learning ideas or projects you would like to see implemented, please email Rachel Lackland at rlackland@hmprg.org.
